About the role:
The role of Accountant, reporting to the General Manager, is a vital function of the Finance and Administration team. The responsibilities of the accountant are broad and range from transactional finance to management accounting including business analysis and forecasting for the business of Copyworld as that for a smaller sister company. The Accountant will bring about greater financial transparency for the GM and MD and make associated recommendations to improve the bottom line. Ideally, the Accountant will extend themselves beyond the strictly traditional role, into broad business process improvements. This is role could be offered on a full time or .8 basis, across five days.
Key duties include:
- End to end financial accounting: accounts payable and receivable
- Oversee payroll
- Analysis of business performance: regular financial and KPI reporting
- End of month and end of financial year reconciliations and reporting
- Plan and coordinate annual audits
- External stakeholder management
- Support all areas of the business from a financial perspective
- Inventory and asset register maintenance
- Reconciling intercompany accounts
- Statutory reporting and return preparation
- Annual budgeting and forecasting
Skills & experience:
The successful candidate will require solid, recent working experience in a similar accountancy role within small to medium business; ideally with inventory management exposure and proven strengths in financial modelling. Essentially, the successful candidate will have strong business acumen and be solutions focused. Your combined expertise in management and financial accounting together with your superior communication skills will ensure that you are an excellent mentor to the team at large. You are comfortable working within strict timelines as well as delivering financial information to key stakeholders. Your workplace experience is underpinned by relevant tertiary education and ideally postgraduate industry certification.
