About the role:
Due to continued growth of the organisation, a need has arisen for a senior Mental Health Clinician to join its team. This position will suit a professional with a background in psychology, social work or counselling. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position is offered on a full time basis and based in the Norwood office, with the opportunity to travel to different sites around Adelaide.
The role will involve counselling, psychological/biopsychosocial assessments, creating and implementing positive behaviour support plans and other psychologically based capacity building services across a client’s life span to address issues which may affect the function, independence and social inclusion of individuals with disability, their families and carers.
You will work as part of a team of Allied Health professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Counsellors to achieve the best quality of life and outcome for the clients.
Skills & experience:
The successful candidate will have experience in providing counselling/therapy to those with psychosocial, intellectual and autistic related disabilities, supported by formal qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Developmental Education. With expertise in mental health assessment and management using evidence-based interventions, the successful candidate will ideally have exposure working with the NDIS. Comprehensive report writing experience will be highly regarded.
A current driver’s license and car is essential, as is the willingness to obtain a DHS Disability Services Employment Check, DHS Working with Children Check and registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
