I’m about to finish studying but my chosen career doesn’t have a lot of openings. How can I improve my chances of success?

Employers generally want experience, but it can be challenging for fresh graduates to demonstrate it. Here are some advice that may help you obtain employment whether you have chosen a specialised professional path or are having trouble finding employment.

Internships and Volunteering

Take into account unpaid or internship possibilities as soon as you can, or better yet during your studies. This will give you priceless real-world experience, references, and an overview of what your potential job involves.

Networking

LinkedIn can be used to your advantage. Sometimes opening doors to opportunity only require one connection. To spread the word about yourself, get in touch with hiring managers, recruiting agencies, or participate in relevant posts. You may also want to attend local employment fairs and alumni gatherings, which can connect you to prospective employers and offer valuable advice and tips. Be sure to check out our blog on keeping your online presence professional and up-to-date.

The Basics

Most importantly, do your homework on how to improve your resume, tailor your cover letter, and leverage your social media presence.
