Racing SA Limited (Racing SA) is the Principal Racing Authority under the Rules of Racing and administers and regulates thoroughbred horse racing in South Australia. It represents, promotes and supports the State's thoroughbred racing industry. Racing SA also regularly consults with owners, breeders, trainers, jockeys and bookmakers to monitor the current status of the industry and develop long term plans. Race meetings are enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people every year, from Mount Gambier in the South East to Roxby Downs in the Far North.
About the role:
We are recruiting a PR and Content Manager to join the Marketing Team at Racing SA. Reporting to the General Manager – Communications, Media and Content, this position is offered on a full time basis as a maternity leave contract for 9 months.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop, implement and evaluate Racing SA’s media and communications strategy
Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets
Develop and pitch proactive media opportunities, as well as assisting in the management of reactive media
Monitor daily media monitoring
Write and distribute media releases, blog posts and industry content for various platforms
Develop content for Racing SA promotional materials, including videos
Co-manage Racing SA website content
Provide content for The Races Magazine
Skills & experience:
We are seeking applications from candidates with strong communication skills. The successful applicant will have excellent writing skills and be able to develop content, both written and digital. Strategic communications skills including drafting strategies and communicating key messaging are imperative. Ideally the successful candidate will have an understanding and interest of racing or sport more broadly.
