About the firm

This boutique legal practice, located in the Western suburbs, has been providing valuable legal services to community members for more than 20 years. The firm’s areas of law include Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advance Care Directives, Estates, Personal Injury Claims, compensation claims, Superannuation Matters, Contracts, Leases and general legal matters.

Due to maternity leave, the firm is now seeking a temporary Legal Secretary to commence in mid-late April through until September. This would be an ideal role for someone seeking to return to the workforce or undertake flexible work, with part-time hours (25-28 hours per week) on offer, in a small but busy office environment.

 About the position

This is a pivotal administrative role where you will be responsible for supporting a sole practitioner. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Answering the telephone and greeting clients
• Client liaison
• Dictaphone typing
• Document preparation
• Diary management
• Data entry
• Invoicing
• Banking
• Collecting and sending mail
• Stationery orders
• Filing

Skills & experience

To excel in this role, you will have relevant experience working in a legal practice. Experience in LEAP software is also highly desirable.

Additional qualities required include a polite and professional telephone manner, sound written communication skills, a can-do attitude and a positive demeanour. You will be required to work autonomously and unsupervised being accountable for accurate, timely record-keeping and ensuring that information is relayed correctly and quickly.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they are able to work independently and be adaptable, flexible and reliable.
