About the role:
This newly created role is responsible for elevating the Bird in Hand Woodside estate and other properties to an elite standard. This managerial position will oversee the gardening services provided by Contractors and work in consultation with the Director and other team members on key projects. This role will also need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and being hands on!
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure the grounds of all Bird in Hand properties are aesthetically pleasing and admired as being at an elite standard
Manage and instruct the services of gardening Contractors at the Woodside estate
Ensure sustainable practices are adopted and continually improved in the management of the properties
Work in consultation with the Viticulturist to establish a green waste site
Oversee the effective operation of the onsite Woodside kitchen garden and enhancements to private family residence
Implement and manage key improvement projects
Skills & experience:
The successful candidate will have experience managing a large luxury garden or estate. Key attributes needed to succeed in this role include attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality and excellence in all that you do. A commitment to sustainability and Bird in Hand’s environmental principles is imperative.
