About the company:
The Department of Education employ Family Day Care (FDC) Coordinators who are responsible for supporting the provision of inclusive quality home-based child care in a designated scheme in accordance its guidelines, objectives and policies.
About the role:
We are recruiting for 3 x FDC Coordinators to work full time, Monday – Friday; there may be an opportunity to work 0.8 FTE over 5 days for the right candidate/s. The FDC Coordinators work in partnership with educators who are small business owners, to provide advice and assistance on the delivery of a quality home based child care program.
The roles are initially offered as a 3 month contract, although there is a high possibility for extension up to 12 months. We are seeking people to be based at Flinders Park, Noarlunga or Port Lincoln and the roles may involve some intrastate travel.
Skills & experience:
You will hold a Diploma level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care as a minimum and have working knowledge of the National Quality Standards. In addition, you will have experience in service delivery in Children’s Services or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with a range of people including individuals, small groups, and community organisations is required. Furthermore, you thrive to coach and mentor others to achieve specific outcomes in changing environments.
You will be able to observe, analyse, report and evaluate child care practices against defined criteria and have strong knowledge of relevant legislation, assessment systems, appropriate standards and quality indicators for young children.
Passion and commitment for promoting and creating a safe and inclusive environment; and the understanding of legislative requirements of Equal Opportunity an WHS legislation are all part of this very important role. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable but not essential.
