About the role:
Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the Accountant will assist in the delivery of high quality, efficient and accurate financial accounting, management accounting, and statutory reporting services. These services will be provided in an accurate and timely manner using excellent customer service, complying with organisation polices and procedures, accounting standards, and legislative requirements.
Managing the general ledger and overseeing monthly balance sheet and GL reconciliations
Assistance with internal and external audits
Assisting the Corporate Services Manager as required
Special project work as required
Documentation of processes and business process improvements
Monthly and yearly statutory payments
Preparation of BAS, IAS and TPAR returns
Assistance with financial reports and budgets
Monitor cash flow and advise CSM of appropriate investment systems
Preparation of monthly reports
Skills & experience:
Minimum 3 years experience in an Accountant role in a small to medium company
Tertiary qualifications in Business with an Accounting major
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including Australian Accounting Standards, Australian tax legislation
Well developed understanding of bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly accounting processes
Demonstrated experience with MYOB preferred
Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills
